2026 tax year
Patreon tax calculator
Patreon reports what it paid you and withholds nothing. The number on your 1099-NEC is not the number you are taxed on.
What Patreon creators can deduct
The dataset lists 3 deduction categories for Patreon: creation costs, platform fee, fulfillment. They are only deductible if you kept the record.
| Deduction | Amount |
|---|---|
| Camera, lighting and production equipment | $2,800 |
| Total deductions | $2,800 |
| Net profit, the taxable figure | $33,200 |
On $36,000 of gross, 8% never reaches taxable profit. The gross and the cost figures illustrate the shape of the work, they are not a claim about what anyone earns, and every rate applied to them is from the verified 2026 dataset.
Patreon's own cut is 8% of what supporters pay. If your 1099 reports the gross before that fee, the fee is a deduction; if it reports your net payout, it is already out and deducting it again would double-count.
